Alternatively, you can locate your closest dealer and set up an appointment - or just walk right in and visit them directly. Either way, you'll be working directly with your local dealer from there. Order documents can be signed remotely or at the dealership - whichever is easiest for you.

Absolutely. We offer a wide range of sizes, siding materials (LP SmartSide®, 29-gauge metal, T1-11), roof styles (gable, gambrel), roofing materials (metal or shingles), and a full palette of paint colors. Use our online Shed Builder or talk to a dealer to spec your custom build.

Our delivery crews work efficiently to get your building placed and set up shortly after arrival and will call ahead to confirm site readiness. Buildings can be placed directly on the ground or on a prepared surface such as gravel or concrete. On-lot inventory sheds are typically delivered within 7-14 business days of purchase confirmation, while custom-ordered buildings generally require 21 business days for construction and delivery after approval. Please keep in mind that weather, demand, and other factors can affect our standard delivery windows.

Yes. Our rent-to-own program lets you take possession of your shed with no credit check required. Monthly payments are made directly to a third-party RTO provider, and you own the building outright at the end of your term. Early payoff options are also available.

Your site should be as level as possible (within 6 inches side-to-side and front-to-back). Your shed can be placed on the ground (it will sit on the runners), landscape blocks, a gravel pad, or a concrete pad. Consider the overhead and side clearance. Always contact your dealer or driver before delivery if clearance may be a concern.

We use a specialized tilt-bed trailer and a mule (forklift) to set your building precisely on your prepared site. Our driver will position your shed where you would like. Contact your dealer or driver for more information or unusual situations.

Yes, we deliver across Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, including rural properties, acreages, and farms. Delivery is free within 50 miles of your dealer; beyond that, fees are calculated based on distance from our nearest dealer location. Contact us for a delivery quote to your address.

If your site isn't ready, we can reschedule at no charge with sufficient notice (typically 48 hours). Same-day reschedules may incur a trip fee. We strongly recommend having your site fully prepped 1-2 days before your scheduled delivery.

All exposed natural wood - including trim, ground skids, floor joists, and natural wood siding - is pressure-treated for rot and insect resistance. Interior framing uses kiln-dried SPF lumber. Our structures are built to handle the moisture and UV exposure of Midwest climates.

We offer two premium roofing options: 29-gauge steel metal roofing (extremely durable, low-maintenance, and available in multiple colors) or architectural dimensional shingles with a lifetime limited warranty - 10 year full start. Both are installed over solid decking with proper ventilation. All nonmetal siding sheds include drip edge.

We offer three siding choices: LP SmartSide® (engineered wood with a 50-year limited warranty, excellent paint adhesion, and superior impact resistance), 29-gauge steel metal siding (ideal for high-traffic or agricultural use), and T1-11 plywood (a natural wood option).

Our standard non-metal buildings are engineer-certified and roof trusses use engineer-approved connector plates. Higher snow and wind load packages are available. Requirements vary by location - ask your dealer before ordering. Hurricane straps are standard on every building, not an upgrade.

Permit requirements vary by county and municipality. Generally, structures under 200 sq ft do not require a permit in most jurisdictions, but we always recommend checking with your local zoning office. Our team can provide documentation and specs needed for permit applications in most areas we serve.

Setbacks (the required distance from property lines, the house, and other structures) are set by your local zoning bylaw. Common rural setbacks are 5-20 feet from property lines. Urban setbacks are often stricter. We can provide a building spec sheet to assist with your permit application.

In most cases, yes - subject to your municipality's zoning regulations. Factors include lot coverage limits (what percentage of your lot can be covered by structures), maximum accessory building height, and whether the structure is considered temporary or permanent.

Prairie Built Barns guarantees to the buyer that its products are delivered defect-free in terms of both craftsmanship and materials. We will repair or replace any component that fails to provide satisfactory service under regular use for six (6) years from the date of purchase of a new barn. Pre-owned structures and those that are discounted at least 20% do not come with this warranty-they are sold as-is. Individual parts such as LP SmartSide® siding has its own warranty. LP SmartSide® and T1-11 siding should be repainted every 5-8 years depending on UV exposure. Inspect caulking around trim annually and re-caulk as needed. Metal buildings are nearly maintenance-free; wash them down annually to remove dust and debris. Check door hinges and hardware each spring.

Before freeze-up: clear debris from the roof, check that doors seal tightly, inspect the foundation skids for any frost heaving, and confirm snow load on the roof doesn't exceed your local design load. Remove any standing water near the foundation.
